Director Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil and Pacific Rim: Uprising) has recently took an interest in the bringing Marc Spector to life. Steven S DeKnight spoke to ComicBook.com not too long ago about what he thinks his next project should be. This isn’t the first time DeKnight has showed interest in a comic book character either.
Steven S. DeKnight states in his interview with comicbook.com:
“That’s a weird story actually,” DeKnight said. “I never considered including Moon Knight in Daredevil. Somebody asked me on Twitter a while back if I would do Moon Knight, and I’ve always been a huge Moon Knight fan, and yeah, if I had the time in my schedule and the stars aligned, I’d love to do Moon Knight. I mean, I love the whole multiple personality. Is he crazy? Is he not crazy? Has he really gotten these mystical powers? Are they supernatural or is it all in his head? I think it would make for a very, very interesting Marvel universe kind of Netflix show. I also hope they’ll expand and give him a shot sometime.”
According to sources, DeKnight is a huge comic book fan. Steven S DeKnight took interest in directing a DC Comic Movie a while back. As far as to even tweet out this message in Late January of this year:
“Up, Up, and Away!”
We can only guess if Man of Steel 2 will even be in the cards for Warner Bros anytime soon due to the recent announce of a Joker Solo movie with Jared Leto, Suicide Squad 2 and Aquaman on the horizon. What we can say is that there maybe a future for this Daredevil and Spartacus producer.
When Kevin Feige was asked about Moon Knight joining the MCU in an interview with Screenrant.com:
“Does that mean five years from now, 10 years from now, 15 years from now? There are stacks of character cards that we have in our, in our development offices, which we look at. Which we pull for him, which we discussed.”
Marvel Comics’ Moon Knight would be perfect as a Mature Netflix series, not only because of the violate nature of the character (killing enemies with boxing and martial artist) but as due to the complicated relation Marc Spector has with moon god, Khonshu. Season 3 of Netflix’s Daredevil could be the perfect opportunity to push forward with this timeless character. Moon knight is such a hot character that even James Gunn once showed interest in the Moon God Warrior when stating on Twitter, “Oh my God I love Moon Knight & I have a great idea for a movie, I just wish I had the time (but, no, he doesn’t belong in Guardians).”
Daredevil Season 3 drops on Netflix later on in 2018 along with the second seasons productions of Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Punisher.
