Could the Avengers Make An Appearance In Wreck-It Ralph 2?

The Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks The Internet trailer dropped earlier this week and showed us that we will be transitioning from the familiar arcade world to the bigger world of the internet! And since Wreck-It Ralph 2 is a Disney movie, as Vanellope von Schweetz (voice by Sarah Silverman) puts it, “Princesses and Cartoon Characters.”

After being sent to “a website that’s super-intense and really nuts”, we see our character enter into the world of a well known fan site, ’Oh My Disney!’ and are greeted by many beloved characters.

First up we get everybody’s favorite downer donkey, Eeyore, who gets a quick laugh with a one-liner, delivered in his signature monotone.

Next, we get a glimpse of some Storm Troopers giving chase to our heroine, Vanellope, who has to seek refuge with – you guessed it – the aforementioned princesses. But if you were expecting them to squeal and dote over this adorable little girl suddenly thrust into their midst, you haven’t been paying much attention to the #MeToo Movement.

Cinderella smashes her glass slipper to fashion a makeshift shiv, flanked by Jasmine and Pocahontas, out for blood. Not taking Vanellope Princess claims at face value, the women quiz her about the qualifications of type of princess she may be. Rapunzel asks if she has magic hair; Elsa – magic hands; Cinderella asks if animals talk to her; Snow White inquires if she was poisoned; Tiana and Aurora asks if she was cursed; Belle and Rapunzle wonder if she’s been “kidnapped or enslaved?”All of which, Vanellope answers no, and is very concerned. Before the Princesses agree that she is a princess they asked her one final question,”Do people assume all your problems got solved because a big strong man showed up?” The answer, a resounding YES!

It’s funny to see the Princesses have their historic, sedate personalities flipped on their heads and we get it loud and clear: this is not your typical damsel in distress story. Seeing Disney poke fun at itself continues to prove that they’re ready to move away from this “princess stigma” and continue to tell stories from a different angle.

While at “Oh, My Disney!” we see other Disney properties. Is this a hint at other fun characters that we could encounter? I’d LOVE to see OG characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Daisy taking no guff. The Muppets running around, and since Disney has acquired Marvel and we’ve see Storm Troopers in the trailer, it would be awesome to Hulk or Thor interact with Ralph!

What do you think about the trailer? What characters are you wanting to see? Make sure to comment below and let me know!
