Not to much has been revealed when it comes to Dave Filoni’s all new animated series STAR WARS RESISTANCE. We do know that it takes place before the events of The Force Awakens. And that it will include Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma and BB-8, with original actors Oscar Issac and Gwendoline Christie reprising their roles. We also know that voice cast includes actors Christopher Sean (Days of Our Lives), Suzie McGrath (East Enders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Bobby Moynihan (DuckTales), Jim Rash (Community), and Rachel Butera (Tammy’s Tiny Tea Time).
Community actor Jim Rash recently appeared on Entertainment Tonight and gave some interesting details about his character.
Bobby Moynihan and I are basically the two guys who run the equipment – sort of the checkout area. We’re like Oscar and Felix [characters.]”
So now we know that Rash and SNL vet Moynihan will most likely be the comic relief of the show. The only name we have so far is Kazuda Xiono, who’s a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order. Rumor is that this character will be voiced by Donald Faison. We should be getting some type of footage at this years San Diego Comic Con since the show is set to premiere on DISNEY XD in the Fall.
