Review: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

I think the very best pace to start with this movie are the Jurassic Park movies and Jurassic World movies.  If you love this franchise or enjoyed Jurassic World, then I am pretty sure you will enjoy this movie.  If you are not a fan of the predecessors I would stay away from this movie.  There is nothing here you are going to enjoy.

This movie takes another step towards what was hinted at in the last movie and that is the weaponization of the dinosaurs because humans can control everything they create.  The big difference with this movie is that instead of being chased and hunted through a jungle theme park, our heroes are being stalked through a giant mansion.  After that its pretty much the same movie as before, giving the feel more of a Wolfman type movie than dinosaur movie.

This series is a lot like Resident Evil, Halloween and other horror movies.  If you love it for mindless reasons you will have fun at most all the movies.  Otherwise they get boring, repetitive and need to end.  Of course JW2 does its part to set up a JW3 even if we really don’t need one.

It is really the repetition of the same old story that is this movies biggest drawback.  I don’t blame the director as it looked great.  It’s more a case of not having a story to really work with.  All of the actors were fine, but there was a lot of frivolous, pointless sub plots and characters in this movie.  You also have to ask at this point how immortal is this T-Rex?!

This is nota bad film by any means.  It is just repetitive and lacks anything new that stands out.

SCORE: 4.5
