Creators of The Witcher 3 Bring The Board Game To Vibrant Life With Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red dominated the fantasy past with The Witcher 3, and have now come for our future with Cyberpunk 2077, based on the popular tabletop roleplaying game series Cyberpunk 2020. Although no real game play was shown, the amazing visuals were more than enough to get our hearts racing.

Just before the press conference could wrap up, a “hack” led us into the trailer.

According to youtube, “Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend.“

As cool as the game sounds and as great as it looks, what sold me isn’t what happened during the presentation, but what happened after. Polygon spotted an easter egg. During some of the glitched sequences in the trailer a message flashes on the screen, revealing that there will be free DLC      and no micro transactions. Most importantly, some of the hidden codes found in the trailer can be used to redeem copies of The Witcher 3. In addition to this cool stuff, we also learn more about the game. It’s single player, you can create your own character… but sadly, no release date yet, saying “we would only release the game when it’s ready.”
