Tickets for PAX West 2018, taking place Aug. 31 – Sep. 3, 2018 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, WA, are now available for purchase.
Single-day badges for the event are on sale for $50 each, while pre-sale merchandise, including 1,200 special PAX-branded blankets ($35), artisan Sock Club socks ($25), and 1,000 aluminum dice stand with twin anodized die from Level Up Dice ($75) are also available. BYOC passes will go on sale in the near future, but must be used in conjunction with a day pass.
Now in its fourteenth year, PAX West 2018 will once again span eight buildings across Downtown Seattle, including The Paramount Theatre and Benaroya Hall. As the west coast’s most attended gaming event, PAX West continues to deliver and improve upon the experience its attendees have come to know and love.
In addition to the immense exhibition halls on the fourth and sixth floors where attendees can get hands-on with the most anticipated upcoming titles, the expo will include autograph signings with some of the most popular content creators on YouTube and Twitch, live tournaments with the biggest names in esports, panels with industry leaders, console, tabletop, and PC freeplay areas, a VR lounge, and more.
“PAX West is where it all started, so whenever we have a chance to invite people into our home it’s just a good feeling,” said Jerry Holkins, co-founder, Penny Arcade. “Purely as a word advice, I would briefly minimize this window and try to get tickets as soon as you can. They tend to go fast.”
Produced by Penny Arcade, in conjunction with ReedPOP, the PAX series of shows – West, East, South, Dev, Unplugged, and Australia – have become some of the world’s largest gaming conventions, each with tens of thousands of yearly guests. Each and every event provides a celebration of gaming culture, where prominent game creators connect directly with the gaming community via demos, panels, concerts, tournaments, and other exciting opportunities.

PAX, or Penny Arcade Expo, is a festival for gamers to celebrate gaming culture. First held in Seattle in 2004, PAX has nearly doubled in size each successive year, with PAX Prime 2014 selling out of tickets in a matter of minutes. Connecting the world’s leading game publishers with their most avid and influential fans, PAX expanded with a second show in Boston in 2010 and a third in San Antonio in 2015, making it the three largest gaming shows in North America. The first international PAX was held in Melbourne, Australia in 2013. In 2017, Penny Arcade announced PAX Unplugged, its first tabletop focused show, to be held in Philadelphia.
Penny Arcade is a web comic focused on video games and video game culture, written by Jerry Holkins and illustrated by Mike Krahulik. With over 3.5 million readers, it is the most popular and longest running gaming web comic online. Penny Arcade is also responsible for the Child’s Play Charity, the Penny Arcade gaming expos (PAX) in Seattle, Boston, San Antonio, Philadelphia, and Melbourne, multiple video games based on the brand, and multiple online video series.
