Warwick Davis was 11, when his grandmother heard on the radio a casting call looking for people under four feet tall to appear in Return of the Jedi. Warwick auditioned and was cast playing an Ewok. Originally Kenny Baker who played R2-D2 was cast as lead Ewok Wicket but when Baker became sick George Lucas saw Davis’s potential and replaced Baker with Davis. After the success of Return of the Jedi, Davis went on to appear in various movies through out his career from Willow, The Leprechaun franchise, Harry Potter films, And 6 out of 10 Star Wars Films.

Blasting off to light speed to the year 2018, Warwick Davis returns to the Star War Franchise in Solo: A Star Wars story as the Character “Weazel” who is part of Enfys Nest crew. Co-Worker and Long time friend of Davis Ron Howard had this to say about Davis while working on Solo A Star Wars Story, “ Warwick… what a great guy.  You know of course, he did Willow, but he, he’d, you know, he’d been an Ewok before that and so you know, so he’s a, he’s a tradition and another master.  And the other thing is, is that he, he helps out with a lot of it, a lot of the characters and a lot of the droids and things like that and he will come in and, you know, he does, he goes uncredited.  He loves it. But the, the company is smart enough to bring him in and not only play a character, but also help with coaching and setting up and figuring out some of these behaviors and he’s a really creative guy and an old friend and it’s great to reunite with him”.

Star Wars is really a big tradition according to Howard, Davis was even able to do a scene with his daughters on the set of Solo.  Lawrence Kasdan had this to say about the Davis’s Family, “his daughter as well, was there with us on set and in some of the droid fights, it’s the two of them against each other. It was incredibly fun.”  This was also the first Star Wars film that Davis had speaking lines. Warwick has been around Star Wars since 1983 almost for 35 year of tradition of a Galaxy far far away. We hope to see Davis and Family keep up this tradition for years to come.
