Quentin Tartantino’s upcoming movie One Upon A Time In Hollywood already has an impressive casting lineup, including Leonardo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt and Kurt Russell. But now Margot Robbie is officially part of that ensemble, making this a must see movie. She is confirmed to play Sharon Tate, the late actress infamously slain by the Manson family in 1969. Tarantino described the film as:
“a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo Dicaprio), the former star of a Western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor… Sharon Tate.”
Although it seems like the center focus of the movie would be on Manson and the Manson Family Murders, Tarantino’s most recent statement claims that the film would not center on Manson but on the year 1969.
Robbie told Indiewire:
“Beyond anything, I’ve just always wanted to see [Tarantino] work. And I want to see how he runs a set, and how he directs people, and what the vibe is onset, and what’s in the script, and then what happens on the day. I’m just fascinated by all of it, fascinated. So it’s going to be a crazy experience to witness it firsthand. It’s something I’ve always dreamed of doing.”
The film is set to release August 9, 2019.
