Here we go again, more and more reboots, I’m sorry, “adaptations” coming our way. However, this is one I can get behind. Have you watch any of the old Stephen King films recently? None of them really hold up (outside of my own personal nostalgia) including the beloved IT. Fight me.
Pet Sematary was one of my favorite horror films growing up. I constantly quoted “No fair” to my parents when pouting and walking away. But, it’s time to bring this story to new generation and I can only hope it will be as good as the most recent It adaptation.
Acclaimed Actor, John Lithgow (Pitch Perfect 3, Daddy’s Home, Dexter) will be joining Pet Sematary as Jud Crandall, originally portrayed by Fred Gwynne. Crandall is the kind, elderly neighbor who informs the Creed Family about the mystical Pet Sematary that brings your beloved animals back to life.
This most recent Pet Sematary adaptation is being written by Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch (Starry Eyes), and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura (The Meg, Bumblebee), Mark Vahradian (Bumblebee, Transformers: The Last Knight), and Steven Schneider (Insidious, Paranormal Activity).
Pet Sematary is set for release April 19, 2019! Will you be there? I know I will be.
