Earlier this year, FX gave a pilot order for a series based on Jemain Clement (Moana, Legion, Flight of The Conchords) and Taika Waititi’s (Moana, Thor: Ragnarok) cult film of the same name. FX has officially picked up the half-hour series for 10 episodes expected to debut Spring 2019.

The What We Do In The Shadows series will be set in New York City and follow three vampires roommates who have lived together for hundreds of years: Lazlo (Matt Berry) the goofy one who transfigures into a bat and runs into walls, Nandor (Kayvan Novak) head vampire of the house and his presumed assistant (Harvey Guillen), and of course Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) the badass female vampire roommate.

‘What We Do in the Shadows’ only gets better with age thanks to this brilliant adaptation for television by co-creators Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi,” said FX’s co-president of original programming Nick Grad. “Their feature version was a hilarious, fresh take on the mundanity of everyday life that even immortals must face. We are thankful to them, Paul Simms and Scott Rudin, and this amazing cast for taking us deeper into the shadows with this series.”
