Netflix’s SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH Finally Gets Its Official Title

A rose by any other name wouldn’t smell as sweet, and the same goes for the Riverdale Spin-off: Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The new series is going to be based off of the Archie Graphic Novel “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” and it’s now official that the Netflix Series will be named accordingly.

The new Sabrina series will be a lot darker than the previous incarnation of the character leaning heavily into the supernatural elements that are inherent in the material. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be heavily influenced by works of horror such as Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist.

Along with Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina Spellman, the cast also includes Lucy Davis as Aunt Hilda, Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda, Jaz Sincalir as Rasalind Walker, Richard Coyle as Father Blackwood, Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle, Tati Gabrielle as Prudence, Michelle Gomez as teacher Mary Wardell and Chance Perdomo as Sabrina’s warlock cousin Ambrose Spellman. Branson Pinchot will recur as George Hawthorne, Baxter High’s villainous, Puritanical principal.

There’s not premiere date for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, but I think fall would be a good guess.
