Okay, lets do this. I know it sounds a little crazy, but the idea of Hal Cooper being the Black Hood doesn’t sit well with me. Are the writers trying to tell me that Archie has seen Hal’s face almost every day of his life and magically forgot what his eyes look like?! No, nope, no. If this is where the writers are going I’m going to be upset with them for them treating their viewers like idiots.

That being said, the only acceptable answer for Hal Cooper being the Black Hood is…if it wasn’t Hal to begin with, but a secret twin brother who happens to have GREEN eyes. GASP!!! WHAT?! I know, but it’s the only way for Archie not recognizing Hal’s eyes under the hood…because they weren’t his BLUE eyes to begin with!

In Season 1, we learn that Hal Cooper is related to the Blossoms via feuding brothers severing ties and one side of their family changing their name from Blossom to Cooper. We also know that TWINS run the the Blossom family: The OG feuding Blossom brothers, Jason and Cheryl, Polly’s Twin Babies Juniper and Dagwood, and recently learned of Claudius and Clifford (Cheryl’s Father and Uncle). The idea of Hal having a twin brother “Howard” (I’m calling him Howard) isn’t that crazy.

You may ask, how would this “Howard” know anything about Betty and her family? Did anyone know about Claudius?! Did anyone know the Blossom and Coopers were related?!

I believe Hal has known about “Howard” his entire life and has kept in touch, or it’s possible “Howard” reached out recently. As far as Betty and their connection, obviously Hal would boast about his wonderful family to his brother. If Hal indeed purchased the “Nancy Drew” book for Betty’s Birthday, “Howard” would’ve known about it, and known that it was her favorite book. Thus being able to use his knowledge about Betty, her life and family, and the book to help him do what he wants to do.

Okay, okay. That’s all good, but where has “Howard” been all this time, you ask? Why wouldn’t anyone know about him? Well, I have a thought about that too.  In order to hide the relations between the Coopers and Blossoms, Hal’s parents made the decision to give “Howard” to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy, you know, where all the Blossom/Cooper people go when having secret children!

This then corroborates my previous theory about Sister Woodhouse and the Sisters of Quiet Mercy being the puppeteer of the Black Hood himself! Boom. Mic Drop. You heard it hear first peeps!

What do you think? Is this crazy? Have I lost my Riverdale marbles?! We’ve got 2 more episodes to find out.
