The WrestleMania 35 location was announced as New Jersey in MetLife Stadium.

The grandest stage of them all also known as WrestleMania is the biggest WWE wrestling event of the year.  It is the Super Bowl, World Series or Stanley Cup of wrestling.

Much like the Olympics each year cities vie for the opportunity to host the event.  It must be Russev Day for New Jersey because they beat out 15 other cities John Saboor, WWE’s executive vice president of special events, told New York Post.

The news was officially broken via press conference although rumors of MetLife hosting has been swirling lately.  Tag Team New Day were the first to announce and confirm the location on the press conference. Fellow WWE wrestlers Triple H, Jonh Cena, Nikki Bella and Ronda Rousey among others were also present for the press conference.

The last time WrestleMania was at MetLife was six years ago in 2013.  Overall this is the eighth time it has been held in the New York/New Jersey area.  One of the reasons WWE chose Metlife was what a great job they did in 2013 according to Saboor. In 2013 the event had a crowd of 80,676 people and brought in $101.2 million to the area according to the New York Post.

Some events including Raw, Smackdown, NXT Takeover and the Hall Of Fame ceremony will all be held in Brooklyn in the Barclay’s Center.  This gives a chance for a lot of revenue to the New York/New Jersey area.

The last MetLife WrestleMania in 2013 was headlined by The Rock vs John Cena and brought in 80,000 fans.  The night included Donald Trump, Chris Christie and musical guest Sean “Diddy” Combs.

MetLife does not have a roof so let’s hope for no rain or this event could turn into a disaster with a slippery ring and ropes..

WrestleMania will be held on April 7, 2019 and tickets go on sale later this year.
