Update: As of 3/9/18 the title and plot details have been removed at the request of the DAA Group.
Late last year it was announced that James Gunn would produce an untitled horror film for The H Collective. Working off a script co-written by Gunn’s brother Brian and cousin Mark Gunn, the film, set to be directed by David Yarovesky, was said to be a horror film and give Gunn some time to dive back into that genre before he began full-time work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Details about the film were non-existent, but thanks to a source we can share some with you now. Pre-production on the film just kicked off last week and filming is expected to begin in and around College Park, Georgia on March 26th and wrap in early May. Earlier today, in a statement by Gunn, it was reported that actress Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect) had been cast in the film.
Gunn is no stranger to horror, having written and directed 2006’s Slither before writing and producing The Belko Experiment in 2016. Interestingly enough, we’ve been told that some low-level pre-production has also started on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, so perhaps Gunn will be able to work on both films while he’s in Georgia.
