Actor “Saddened” He Was Replaced By Paul Bettany On SOLO:A STAR WARS STORY

If you’re a fan of HBO’s The Wire or Boardwalk Empire than you have to be a fan of the amazing actor Michael K. Williams. From playing Omar Little to Chalky White he has serious acting chops and you can understand why he was picked to be in SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY.

At the time that he was cast not a lot was known about his role. What we know is Ron Howard brought on his great friend Paul Bettany on the re-shoots for Solo and that his characters name was VOS.

Michael K. Williams went on to share this week that Vos was originally played by him, but when Howard needed Williams to come in for re-shoots after Chris Miller and Phil Lord were fired, Williams had a schedule conflict and could not come in.

Williams said in the Interview:

“What saddens me most is I was very proud of the work that I did,” he told EW Morning Live.

“What I believe I have created with Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson and Alden [Ehrenreich, who plays Solo]… I thought it was some great work.”

He added:

“We was on the spaceship, and we all had these amazing scenes together, and I thought it was a great opportunity, and I thought it was some great stuff.

“It’s unfortunate the world won’t get to see it.”

It’s a shame that we will never see what Williams could have brought to the table. I just hope they bring him back for another film. Maybe JJ brings him on for Episode IX?
