Earlier this month, we revealed that The Punisher was looking to cast series regulars in the roles of streetwise young girl and a therapist. While it seems our speculation about the story line they might be adapting was wrong, the characters were dead on as today Giorgia Wigham and Floriana Lima joined the show in those roles.
Wigham will be playing Amy Bendix, a young girl who appeared as a minor character in a couple of issues of Punisher: Zone. Lima is playing Krista Dumont, a psychotherapist for military veterans who we imagine will run across Frank at some point since we saw him beginning to deal with his issues at the end of Season 1. Joining the pair is actor Josh Stewart in the role of John Pilgrim, described as “a man whose calm exterior belies a ruthless interior.”
Marvel’s TV head, Jeph Loeb announced the casting via Deadline. “Josh, Floriana and Giorgia are all remarkable talents and we can’t wait for the audience to see what we have in store for them in the second season of Marvel’s The Punisher.” Showrunner Steve Lightfoot added, “We are incredibly excited to have Josh, Floriana and Giorgia joining the cast of Marvel’s The Punisher and seeing them bring their talents to the next chapter in the Frank Castle story.”
The Punisher Season 2 is expected to air on Netflix sometime in 2019.
