CBS is joining the reboot game. With the success of the Hawaii 5-0 and Macgyver reboots, it only makes sense.
Say Hello to a Magnum, P.I. reboot. According to Deadline, CBS has been looking to shake up the lead character, Thomas Magnum, originally played by Tom Selleck (Blue Bloods), by setting out to find a non-white actor for the role. The news of Jay Hernandez (Suicide Squad) landing the part makes good on that effort.
The reboot of Magnum, P.I. will focus on Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), who is an ex-Navy SEAL. After his return home from Afghanistan, Magnum decides to use his military background as a force for good by becoming a Private Eye. Magnum takes on the cases no one else will, and helps those who have no one else to turn to.
