Star Wars The Last Jedi’s Final Box Office Tally Will Still Be Huge

It’s been over a month since the release of The Last Jedi and it still keeps bringing in the money. It only took 2 weeks for the film to become the highest grossing film of 2017 with a whopping $1 bILLION dollars. Forbes has now predicted that The Last Jedi will more than likely finish with $1.326 Billion.

It’s currently the tenth highest grossing film of all time when it’s all said and done Jedi is expected to finish as the eighth highest of all time. In comparison The Force Awakens is the third highest grossing film ever, having made a whopping  $2.068 billion. Of course, that film had the benefit of being the first Star Wars movie made in 10 years.

Meanwhile, last year saw Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, end with $1.056 billion – making it the 23rd biggest film globally. I wonder if the film would have made more without the fan backlash and bad word of mouth. It’s funny, I know around 5 people who have seen the film more than once even though they hated it the first time around. I wouldn’t worry though, being the eighth highest grossing film of all time is still a big deal.

We’ll have to wait till May and see how the next Star Wars stand-alone film SOLO will fare.
