Well, that’s a wrap on the new Hellboy film!
Earlier this weekend David Harbour let VARIETY know that production on the all-new Hellboy film has indeed wrapped in Bulgaria.
“It was hard,” Harbour joked. “I’m 40 years old, and I’m running around punching giants.”
Variety says the film is said to be about Hellboy going to England, where he must defeat Nimue, Merlin’s consort, and the Blood Queen. But their battle will bring about the end of the world, a fate he desperately tries to turn away.
Hellboy has January 11, 2019, release date and is being directed by Neil Marshall starring David Harbour as the titular character, Ian McShane as Professor Broom, Milla Jovovich as Nimue the Blood Queen, Sasha Lane plays Alice Monaghan and Penelope Mitchell will play the role of Ganeida, an elder witch.
I’m really interested to see how dark they will be taking this version of Hellboy. Word is they are trying to keep this a hard R.
I have hope for it since original creator Mike Mignola is co-writing the script with Aron Coleite from a draft by Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden.
I loved the Del Toro versions, but I’m also ok with them remaking the series since it looked like Del Toro was not going to return to make a third.
