Stephen Amell may be known for playing Arrow on The CW’s SC Superhero drama Arrow, but he’s not the only person to pick up an arrow as the iconic archer for the network. Actor Justin Hartley has played the Emerald Archer on Smallville, and two weeks ago, the two Green Arrows Teamed up at a fan fest.
Amell took to Twitter to share a photo of himself with Hartley at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in San Diego, Joking in the caption about a “Deleted Scene” from the “Crisis on Earth X” crossover.

“You guys should see the deleted scene from #CrissOnEarthX,” Amell wrote.
While Hartley didn’t appear in the four-part Arrowverse crossover — the actor is presently starring on NBC’s. This Is Us — if there ever was time for the corner Green Arrow to make an appearance it would have been “Crisis on Earth X.” The crossover saw the Arrowverse heroes face off against their doppelganger from the Nazi Dominated dystopia Earth-X. Arrow, Earth 1 did face off against his Earth-X counterpart in the crossover (he turned out to be the Dark Arrow, Earth X Fuhrer) but still would have been cool for Hartley to show up in some capacity.
Hartley appearing in the Arrowverse is something fans have wanted since Arrow debuted in 2012. Prior to his work on This Is Us, the actor was best known for his role as Oliver Queen on Smallville and while other Smallville alum has appeared in the Arrowverse — specifically Erica Durance on Supergirl and Jessica Parker Kennedy briefly in “Crisis on Earth X” — Hartley has yet to make an appearance. Maybe they can come up with something for the next year’s crossover.
Arrow airs Thursday nights at 9/8c on The CW. Stay tuned to our DC Watch Tower for more information on this development.
