Addams Family Reboot Sets Release Date; Oscar Isaac In Talks to Star

A CG reboot of The Addams Family is set to be released on October 11th, 2019. And CBR had also reported that Oscar Issac may be starring in as Gomez Addams.

From a script by Pamela Pettler and Matt Lieberman, and directed by Sausage Party’s Conrad Vernon, MGM’s Addams Family will reimagine the classic horror-comedy clan that debuted in a series of New Yorker cartoons by Charles Addams. Addams produced 150 single-panel illustrations starring the creepy (but lovable) family of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Wednesday, Pugsley, Lurch, and Grandmama. The strip ran for 50 years, from 1938 to Addams’ death in 1988.

The Addams Family was adapted to television with a beloved 1964-66 ABC comedy starring John Astin and Carolyn Jones. This was followed by a short-lived animated series (which got its own Gold Key comic tie-in), a reunion special and a couple of revivals (both animated and live-action, and both brief).
