I had the privilege of getting a sneak peak of this featurette before it hits theaters Nov. 22 and all I have to say is do not show up to the theater late, you don’t want to miss this!

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure tells the stories of Anna and Elsa celebrating their first Christmas together since opening up the gates at the end of the original film. Anna and Elsa host a celebration for all of Arendelle. When the townspeople unexpectedly leave early to enjoy their individual holiday traditions, the sisters come to the realization that they have no family traditions of their own.

KNOCK KNOCK – In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure,” Olaf goes door to door in Arendelle in search of the best holiday traditions to bring home to Anna and Elsa, who are celebrating their first Christmas in forever. You’re a princess, you don’t have to settle.” – Olaf

After a failed tradition suggestion (in the FORM OF SONG!) from Kristoff, licking the forehead of the Fungus Troll and making a wish (YUCK!), Olaf decides it’s up to him to help Anna and Elsa find their family traditions and sets out on an adventure with Sven to find and bring home the best traditions and hilarity ensues.

The featurette is full of Frozen fun, memorable moments, and quotable one-liners, “You cut down a tree and then dress its corpse with candles.” – Olaf

The animation is beautiful and the new songs are delightful, whimsical, and reminiscent of the magic of the originals. During the Q&A, Josh Gad (Olaf) had nothing but compliments for the team who had HUGE shoes to fill.

“…I remember that Kristen, Idina, Jonathan, and I were all, we all got together shortly after the first time we heard the songs and all of us could not believe how good the songs were. We were like, “have you heard what they did?? They, they’re really good songs.” and it’s hard because you have such iconic music from the original film and especially, “When We’re Together” I can’t shake that song. Good luck parents cause it’s gonna play a lot in your household. It’s incredible music.”

I can’t disagree, I was humming the song for the next 48 hrs after watching this short.

SO THIS IS WHAT HEAT FEELS LIKE — In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 21-minute featurette “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure,” Olaf’s merry mission to find the best holiday traditions is told in part through the original song “That Time of Year.” Featuring four new original songs written by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson, “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” opens in front of Disney•Pixar’s original feature “Coco” in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2017. ©2017 Disney.
