METAL GEAR SOLID Movie Being Written By Jurassic World’s Derek Connolly

Although video game inspired movies have yet to prove their worth, the next adaptation announced to grace the silver screen will be Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid. The game first released in 1998 for PlayStation as a sequel to Metal Gear. The story follows a soldier named Solid Snake who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to neutralize a terrorist threat from renegade special forces unit, FOXHOUND.

Derek Connolly, writer for Jurassic Park, has just been hired to write a script for the film. He will be reuniting with Jordan Vogt-Roberts who was already signed on as the project’s director. The two previously worked on Kong: Skull Island together. The Metal Gear Solid movie was first announced in 2006, but it seems to have gained momentum once again now that it has plans for a script. There are not a lot of details out about the film just yet, but director Vogts-Roberts mentioned earlier this year that he plans to keep to Kojima’s vision of Metal Gear Solid.
