DISNEY Set To Lose $100 Million Because Of Hulu

Reported by Screen Rant, The House of Mouse is set to lose about $100 million thanks to Hulu Live. With Hulu’s new service, viewers will be able to stream a select number of live TV stations for $39.99.

Now this will compete against Netflix, Amazon, and possibility Disney’s new streaming service. TV viewing has changed over the years. So many TV viewers are now going to streaming services to watch all their shows. With Hulu doing this now, I don’t necessarily it will ruin Disney by any means. I do believe, however, Disney will make back the projected $100 million once their streaming service launches in 2019. But with their streaming service, it will compete with Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video.

Now, we know along with 21st Century Fox, Comcast, and Time Warner, Disney co-owns Hulu. So with this happening, I personally don’t think Hulu and Disney’s relationship will change at all, but it was interesting when it was announced Marvel’s Runaways was going to be on Hulu and not Netflix. Marvel Television Head, Jeph Lobe said earlier this year,“It feels like we’re in the right place at the right time with the right show.” So we shall see what happens with Hulu’s streaming service and how Disney will react to it.
