We know that Captain Marvel is going to play a pivotal role going forward in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but will we see her in Avengers 4? It looks that way. Kevin Feige has confirmed that Brie Larson will be reprising her role as Carol Danvers in the follow-up film to Avengers: Infinity War. Here’s what Feige said to Indiewire about Captain Marvel:
“We’re really focusing on ‘Captain Marvel’ and the work that Anna and Ryan are doing. It’s going to be a big part of heading towards this epic conclusion and epic finale of 22 movies over the course of 10 years. That is focus for the next six movies we have to finish and get out. The focus now is on delivering ‘Captain Marvel’ and then bringing Captain Marvel’s story into the finale of everything we’ve started thus far.”
We know that her solo venture takes place in the 90’s and its release date is before Avengers 4, but how will this all work timeline wise? There’s a couple of ways we can see this working. MCU Exchange has the theory of using the Quantum Bands worn my Quasar, but it’s also possible that she could be trapped in an Infinity Stone. It’s pretty clear that Captain Marvel’s story will spark a tie-in to Avengers 4. The Captain Marvel solo film begins shooting next year so Larson could have or could be shooting scenes for Avengers 4 now. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Captain Marvel is scheduled to hit theaters March 6th, 2019.
