We all wondered when this would happen and it was only a matter of time until we got this announcement. During an earning call earlier today (via THR), Bob Iger officially announced that Disney would not be renewing their deal with one of the largest streaming services out there, Netflix. Not only are the Disney classics and TV shows coming to Disney’s new streaming service, but Marvel and Star Wars will be finding a new home as well.
Iger also revealed that Disney’s current film library of nearly 500 films and 7,000 TV episodes, the studio is also going to be producing four to five original films and TV show that will be most live-action, for the streaming service, so there’s a good chance we could be the long rumored live-action Star Wars TV series at some point.
