The big screen version of Stephen King’s adaptation of It was a huge success and broke all kinds of horror box office records. Now Warner Bros. and New Line are ready to follow up on It’s success and have officially been given the release date of September 6th, 2019. Warner Bros. will be releasing the film around the same time of year as its predecessor which ranked in a colossal $478.1 million worldwide, easily making it the highest-grossing horror film of all time!
Producers Barabara Muschietti, Dan Lin, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, and Roy Lee are all set to return along with Gray Daubermen, who penned the 2017 release of the film. Director Andy Muschietti hasn’t closed his deal for the sequel, but he’s fully expected to return to helm the project. It is surprising that Warner Bros. hasn’t locked down their directors like Patty Jenkins and Muschietti and banking on the success of their films.
