Jessica Chastain Confirms Villainous X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Role

We finally have confirmation that Jessica Chastain will be joining the cast of X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Today, on Instagram she confirmed her involvement in the film which is shooting in Montreal. Chastain has previously been rumored for a role in the film for the last several months. We don’t know who she will be playing just yet but rumor had her playing Shi’ar Empressshi’ar empress Lilandra Neramani which would make sense, seeing as the storyline for this film is the Dark Pheonix. It’s been reported that Lilandra r will be on a mission to imprison and kill Jean Grey as the ultra-powerful Dark Phoenix. Simon Kinberg, who has produced almost every single X-Men film since First Class will be helming the project as the director and writer of the film.

In the playful post, Chastain teases co-star James McAvoy (Charles Xavier) saying that she’s going to make him cry when she arrives on set. Check out the Instagram post below:

An announcement should be coming soon about who Chastain is playing in the film, but we’re putting our money on Lilandra. X-Men: Dark Pheonix hits theaters November 2, 2017.
