At Anime Expo on Sunday, Studio Trigger announced their new upcoming anime projects: Promare, Gridman, and a co-project with A-1 Pictures called Darling in the Frankxx. Details on all three projects are minimal, but there were a couple of things that were revealed.

Promare will be an original work directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi. The anime will be written by Kill la Kill writer Kazuki Nakashima. Knowing that Nakashima will be doing the writing, I think it is best to assume that Promare will be a strangely energetic series. Don’t believe me? Check out Kill la Kill.
Gridman will be directed by Akira Amemiya. The series will be inspired by the original ’90s anime series Denkou Choujin Gridman. How much of the series will pull from the original storyline is to be determined.
Studio Trigger is most known for their work on Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academia. Stay tuned in the new few months to hear more news from them surrounding their upcoming projects.
