THE BATMAN Director Matt Reeves Has Confirmed That The Movie’s Script Is Being Rewritten From Scratch

Earlier this year it was reported that the script for The Batman’s next solo adventure movie was being rewritten from scratch and now Matt Reeves, himself has confirmed that. Reeves was a guest on MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast when Josh Horowitz asked if the original script from Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns was still in play. “No,” Reeves responded. “It’s a new story. It’s just starting again. I’m excited about it. I think it’s going to be really cool.”

Back when Affleck was set to direct the only thing we knew for certain was that Deathstroke was going to be one of the villains played by former True Blood actor Joe Manganiello. It’s possible Slade Wilson could still end up in the film, but the fact that we’re getting a completely new story suggests that Reeves intends to move the film in an entirely new direction.
