Last week, we dropped a slew of casting breakdowns and character reveals that we thought were best fits for Fox’s mutant franchise and it turns out we were right on one so far. Entertainment Weekly reveals that mutant pop star Dazzler will indeed be making an appearance in Simon Kinberg’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Here was the breakdown our source shared with us:
[BRITTANY]Female 18 to play younger (15-17) Caucasian. Very attractive, charismatic and confident. Possibly a bit edgy with a fiery personality, Brittany is a born entertainer. Strong singing skills are a plus, but not mandatory. SUPPORTING
The site reveals that Dazzler will only have a small role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix and unfortunately there are no plans to have singer Taylor Swift reprise her role from her small cut scene in which her picture appeared on an album cover as the character. We don’t know who’s going to be cast in the role, but we’re guessing it’s going to be a pop singer. Perhaps Ariana Grande? Who knows. The character was rumored to appear in the last three installments of the franchise, but the cut scene from X-Men: Apocalypse was as close as we got.
Other cast members set to return areJames McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Alexander Shipp, Tye Sheridan, and Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Jessica Chastain is rumored to play Lilandra from the Shi’ar Empire. We’ll keep you updated with any further developments but in the meantime, who would you like to see play Dazzler? Leave your suggestions in the comments below.
