We Are Not in Equestria Anymore in New My Little Pony: The Movie Trailer

Yesterday Lionsgate released the full trailer for their upcoming animated film, My Little Pony: The Movie, where we get to see the old gang needing to save their land once more from baddies.

The way the trailer is set up helps to bring in new viewers like myself to the franchise by explaining to us what Equestria is and who the original characters are from the My Little Pony animated series. It doesn’t delve too deeply before we are flung into the plot of the story. The gang must go and save Equestria from an evil baddie. It sounds simple enough.

All in all, the trailer has sold me on the movie being a grand ol’ time. Oh, and Taye Diggs is a cat. What more can one possibly need?

The official synopsis of the film is below:

My Little Pony: The Movie follows Twilight Sparkle (Tara Strong) and her five friends — Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity — as they venture outside the kingdom of Equestria to save their land from the evil Commander Tempest (Emily Blunt) and her henchmen. The Mane 6 must use the magic of friendship to save the kingdom from Tempest’s invading forces. — EW

The cast of My Little Pony: The Movie consists of Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Taye Diggs, Liev Schreiber, Uzo Aduba, Michael Pena, Zoe Saldana, Sia, Andrea Libman, Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Tabitha St. Germain and Cathy Weseluck.
