It was originally reported that Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman was estimated to make between $100 – $110 million over the course of its opening weekend, but a new report from Deadline is now estimating that iconic DC superheroine’s first big solo film could make as much as $175 million-plus. The movie is still on course to earn roughly $65M-$75M here in the states, but internationally it could now reach as high as $100 – $118 million.
The latest figures are hot off of the heels of the overwhelmingly positive reviews, which have Wonder Woman as the highest ranked superhero film of all time currently on Rotten Tomatoes. Warner Bros. should be confident that the film will perform well the first few days it hits theaters. This is also a great turning point for the DC Extended Universe.
