ABC’s Once Upon A Time is reaching the end of it’s sixth season, and with that, many actors have reached their end as well.
It was rumored that Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan) would be leaving at the end of this season and possibly making cameos in season 7. She is now confirmed to be leaving the cast. Along with her she took her entire family, which means Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), and Jared S. Gilmore (Henry Mills) are also leaving after this season ends. That’s Emma Swan’s dad, mom and son in that respectful order.
Along with these four, Rebecca Mader (Zelena) is also leaving but perhaps because she get’s killed off and not by choice. The surprise person leaving is actually Emilie de Ravin (Belle). She is a beloved character on OUAT and her departure from the show is sudden and most heartbreaking.
Belle has allowed Gold back into her life, and he is toxic in their relationship, but only to save their son, Gideon. Being a loyal OUAT fan from the beginning, I was hoping to see Belle become strong again and independent of Gold eventually. Especially with Beauty and the Beast just out a few months ago, Belle is currently an incredibly popular character.
Cast that is confirmed for season 7 is Colin O’Donoghue (Hook/Killian), Lana Parilla (Evil Queen/Regina), and Robert Carlyle (Rumplestilskin/Mr. Gold).
So essentially all the bad guys that have gone good are staying, and all the good guys (plus Zelena) are leaving. This is not the fairy tale ending I was looking forward to!
Maybe now we can focus on the other story lines in the fantasy world instead of Emma Swan being the savior for this entire season. OUAT has wrapped up the Aladdin story, so maybe, possibly, hopefully, we can have Ariel, Lilo, and Moana? Maybe some Pocahontas or Esmeralda, and I would love Tiana!
