Cosplay Spotlight: GRIFFIN MARIA’S 5 STAR WARS The Force Awakens Inspired Junkyard Rey Cosplay Highlights

Griffin Maria is a geek and proud of it! When she’s not attending a con she can usually be found binge-watching shows like Buffy, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Battlestar Galactica. If you do catch Maria at a con and she’s not in front of a camera she is usually showing her skills off at the gaming table. She was introduced to the world of cosplay by her friends, and instead of going cosplaying the original rendition of the characters she usually goes for more of the “Lusty” look. Griffin Maria’s cosplays are for fun! In an interview with Word of the Nerd here’s what she had to say:

“Everything I do is for fun. I hesitate to even call myself a cosplayer. Early on I decided that aside from original characters I help create, any other type of cosplay would be a “sexy fangirl” rendition rather than full on character recreation. I’ve had a lot of fun with that take on the characters, and try not to take it too seriously.”

Maria’s favorite cosplay she’s done to date is very well recieved by fans and that’s her “Junkyard Rey”, which we are spotlighting today. For Star Wars purist be forewarned, it’s not an authentic take on the character, but it’s not intended to be, “I had a very cool photo shoot opportunity at a junkyard, and I thought that creating a sexy version of Rey set against all the ruined cars and forgotten stuff would make for a cool visual. I love how these pics turned out, and I had the best time at this shoot with some of my favorite people!”
