Why did Luke disappear?
We have been led to believe that it was prompted by his despair after Kylo Ren destroyed his new Jedi apprentices but why would that lead Luke to desperately search for the original ancient Jed temple?
Is he just looking for meaning after a crisis of faith or has he discovered something even more terrible?
Snoke manipulated Kylo’s fall to the Dark Side and what if Luke has discovered just how ancient Snoke is and how far back his evil influence goes?
A new report from Star Wars expert Thor Skywalker says: “Smoke is old. He even predates the Sith and is likely the first Dark Side user in the galaxy. He may be the one who inspired the Sith and trained them at one point, but considered himself above them, almost like a god.
”He used the Sith to rule the galaxy and was defeated thousands of years ago when the first Jedi emerged and imprisoned him in a distant part of the galaxy.”
The Aftermath novel Empire’s End by Chuck Wendig explicitly states that Snoke has seen the rise and fall of the Empire and that he has been watching Kylo Ren since the womb. But just how long has he been out there?
The novels also reveal that a powerful Dark Side force or being has been calling to Palpatine and other like the Acolytes of the Beyond. Palatine was planning to go in search of this mysterious being himself and sent the First Order out there upon his death.
He certainly looks ancient and wounded. This ties in with the theory that Snoke has been waiting a long time for a Dark Side user like Kylo Ren who is powerful enough that he can merge with them and steal their body and consume their power.
But who defeated, wounded and presumably banished Snoke beyond the known galaxy in the first place?
The new theory expands on this even further with the idea that Luke has discovered Snoke’s original and evil intent.
It’s not just grief and guilt over the conversion of Ben Solo to Kylo Ren and the massacre of the Jedi that drives Luke. He has gone in search of the ancient original Jedi because he believes they defeated Snoke when they brought down the first Sith Empire.
The only remaining Skywalker Jedi knows what the rest of the galaxy does not, that Snoke has returned after millennia in exile, and Luke is desperately trying to find a way to stop him.
We know that The Last Jedi will feature flashback scenes and that one will almost certainly show Kylo killing Luke’s Jedi.
Imagine if we also get to see scenes of the ancient Sith and Jedi and the revelation that Snoke has been behind everything from the very beginning…
Star Wars The Last Jedi is out on December 15
