Street Fighter V has had a recent backlash against one of their new, well kind of new stages. Capcom recreated the classic temple level from Street Fighter II and put in their Thailand Stage.
Thailand, known for Buddhism, and this stage with Buddhist icons, had sounds in the level that chanted “Allah” (God in Arabic) and prayer chants. They were soft and in the background, but offended many, to the point that Capcom pulled the stage almost immediately after it was released.
It is weird to hear Arabic chants that are religious in a Buddhist stage. What’s going on Capcom?
