Star Wars: Episode IX may use footage of the late Carrie Fisher to conclude her role as General Leia Organa, according to her brother, Todd Fisher. Since her tragic death this past December, many fans (myself included) wondered how Fisher would be affect her role in the franchise. Leia is as beloved by fans as much as Fisher was, so continuing on with the saga without Leia doesn’t seem right. After news broke that Fisher had finished filming for Star Wars: Episode VIII, and was a larger more centric role, fans began to speculate on how Lucasfilm and Disney would handle the princess turned general in Episode IX.
Everything comes to an end, but recently Chris Evans did give us a glimmer of hope that he would be carrying the Star-Spangled shield as Steve Rogers/ Captain America well into Phase 4. It now seems that Evans has somewhat backtracked on that statement, leaving the future of the superhero up in the air. Here’s what Evans had to say in a interview with USA Today:
“I’d be lying if I said it wouldn’t be hard for me,” Evans said when asked about moving on from the role. “But the passing of time and the passing of torches is part of the experience. Nothing lasts forever. There’s a beauty in that departure, even if it can be sad at times. It’s also joyful. I’ve had a great run. Superheroes are reinventable entities, like Batman or even James Bond. These movies find new incarnations and new ways to tell the story. I am all for it. However they want to proceed after ‘Avengers 4,’ it’s really up to them. I walk away with no regrets and endlessly thankful.”
Did you wonder why the recent images from the set of Marvel’s The Inhumans featured a lot of the main characters in civilian attire? It looks like we might have an answer. ABC has released a new synopsis for the show, and it reveals why the Royal Family are hiding on earth after a military coup back on Attilan:
After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.
John Simm will return as the Master to battle the Doctor (Peter Capaldi), new companion Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie) and Nardole (Matt Lucas) in the forthcoming series of Doctor Who.
John Simm says: “I can confirm that it’s true, thanks to the power of time travel I’m back. It’s always a pleasure to work with this great team of people and I can’t wait for you all to see what the Master gets up to in the next series. “
Steven Moffat, writer and executive producer, says: “Nothing stays secret for long on Doctor Who but you’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see exactly what the Master is up to and how he makes his return to face the Doctor. It’s been a huge pleasure to have fan favourites John Simm and Michelle Gomez face to face in the same role! It’s not often you get to see a solo personality clash.”
