“Ghosts, ghouls, and goblins oh my!” This comic book looks like a horror movie fan’s dream. It has witches. It has werewolves. It has vampires. Hell, it even has x-file like agents. Unfortunately, it wasn’t all that enjoyable to read.
“Fred Allan has survived the deadly manhunt across the deserted city of Carson so far and his family has finally found him. Unfortunately, he’s still surrounded by young werewolves and vampires — the children of his old foes. Can the Allan family and their new allies get to Fred in time to save him?”
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m sure this series has potential. But, I jumped in at the fifth issue. I would highly recommend everyone to start at the beginning or with the original series. This way you will get to know the characters and experience the buildup.
The art by Damien Worm is what kept me reading this book. His art fits perfectly with this gothic universe. You may have seen his work before in the series “Monster & Madman”.
The story, on the other hand, seemed to be a transition into a new era for the comic book. The kids with power are finally able to fight alongside with their mentor. But, this issue as a comic and story does not stand on its own.
I’m definitely going to check out the past issues and read the full story arc. I’ll be posting an updated review soon.
