Greg Grunberg, best known for portraying Matt Parkman in NBC’s Heroes, has been cast in a recurring role on CW’s The Flash. Grunberg will make his first appearance as Detective Tom Patterson in the Nov. 22 episode, Killer Frost. According to the character description he is “a gruff, stalwart figure at Central City Police Department, Det. Patterson is unwavering in his commitment to protecting Central City from the dangerous metas that threaten it.”

It sounds a little reminiscent of his characters turn in Heroes Reborn, I wonder if he’ll end up be hiding a secret meta power, similar to how in Agents of SHIELD, Senator Ellen Nadeer is hiding her brother’s Inhuman transformation while being outspoken against them.

This episode is also the episode that is directed by Kevin Smith,

Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) uses her powers to save Barry (Grant Gustin), but as her mother predicted, the effort unleashes her inner Killer Frost. Killer Frost goes on a rampage looking for Dr. Alchemy, kidnapping Julian (Tom Felton) and battling both The Flash and Vibe (Carlos Valdes). Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) have a heart to heart talk.

I’ve enjoyed this season so far, though, I do wish that the actual “Flash Point” storyline had lasted a little bit longer (I realize it’s still going on, but I mean prior to the timeline having been reset – again). I’m excited to see Greg Grunberg join the cast and I look forward to seeing what he’ll bring to the show. What do you guys think? Is Greg Grunberg a good addition? Do you think he’ll end up turning out to be a Meta?
