Star Wars Studio “Foodles” Fined for Harrison Ford Accident

Harrison Ford at The Force Awakens Premiere

Disney owned “Foodles Production” The UK based studio that was running the filming of Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been fined £1.6 million (almost $2 million) for 2 breaches in health and safety regulations on the set of the film where Harrison Ford’s leg had been crushed by a hydraulic door. I’m sure at the time Ford wasn’t too happy about the situation, but he seems to have taken a light-hearted approach as he teased JJ about it while they were doing the promotional circuit.

The Force Awakens made an obscene amount of money at the Box Office so I’m sure the fine didn’t really hurt Foodles all that much, I don’t recall hearing about any major accidents on the set of episode 8, so hopefully this incident led to better practices going forward.

You can catch Star Wars: The Force Awakens currently on Starz, Rogue One will be out on December 16th, and if you haven’t seen it yet, the new trailer just dropped this morning, you can check it out here.
