Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star Expansion pack goes live next week, so there’s been huge interest in gameplay and what to really expect. Today DICE and EA released a new gameplay trailer today in order to promote next week’s launch and, dare I say, it looks lovely.

The Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star expansion focuses on raiding the Death Star. That is no easy or smart feat. This mission to raid the Death Star comes in three phases.

In Phase 1 of Battlefront, the Rebels will fly X-Wings and A-Wings against TIE fighters and TIE interceptors in a space battle. The Rebels will attempt to destroy enough of them to allow their Y-Wing fighters in to weaken the Death Star’s defenses. Without weakening the Death Star’s defenses, you cannot succeed.

Phase 2 of Battlefront has you moving inside the Star Destroyer, fighting in areas that have been inspired by the original trilogy. The whole mission behind Phase 2 is extracting a specific droid from the Death Star.  This droid may lead you to find the answer in how to completely destroy the Death Star. The most fun part is that, during Phase 2, you can fight as Bossk and Chewbacca. I’ve always wanted to be Chewie, so this is a huge bonus!

During the last phase of Battlefront, you will be back in space again. This time, after extracting the droid, the Rebels must now attempt to blow up the Death Star for good! There is the option to play as the infamous Luke Skywalker. However, you’ll have to watch out for Darth Vader because he’s been sent to take you down. If that’s not motivation to destroy the Death Star as quickly as possible, I don’t know what is.

At the end of the trailer, it is revealed that passholders to Star Wars Battlefront can have access to the Death Star expansion on Tuesday, September 20. For non-subscribers, the expansion will be available on October 4, 2016.

What do you think of the trailer? Isn’t it lovely? Check it out below and don’t forget to let us know your thoughts!
