It is commonly accepted that DC’s previous attempt at bring Green Lantern to the big screen was a gigantic disappoint to comic book fans as well as in the box office. One of the few positives that many viewers took away from the failed film was of Mark Strong’s portrayal of hero turned villain, Sinestro.
However, with the recent success of films like Batman vs. Superman and Suicide Squad, it appears that the DC Universe is once again ready to tackle the Hal Jordan story.
In a recent leak on the DCEULeaks Reddit page it was revealed that Warner Brother Studios are in talk with Luke Evans for the role to play the fabled Sinestro of the Yellow Lantern Corp and nemesis of Hal Jordan. Sources state that The Hobbit trilogy actor, was approached to approached personally to play the character. The film is also stated to have a “fun and lighthearted tone” as well as teasing the appearance of the villain Atrocitus.
