Pokémon Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary with Special Event Pokémon

Pokémon is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year (which makes some of us feel a little old…cough cough). From that very first journey from the home of Pallet Town, to our journeys now from our physical homes, players have been meticulously working on completely filling out their Pokédex.

To celebrate, Nintendo Network has been releasing eleven “Event Mythical Pokémon” (one per month), which began in February (the month of Pokémon Red and Green’s release in Japan.) They are available at select locations or during select time frames, and are for Pokémon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, and Y. (Rumors are still out if event Pokémon will be available for Pokémon Go).
